MINI LUCKY 7
This Mini Lucky 7 Live Steam locomotive, 7½” gauge, 1½ scale, is a detailed
replica of the Bridgton & Saco River Main "Two Footer". For specific design
details see the Late Don Young plans and construction articles which were
serialized in the magazine "Live Steam" from Jan 1977 thru March 1980.
The locomotive was completed in 1995 with the boiler being certified by a
Washington State Boiler Inspector that same year. The locomotive was built
with a Propane burner as the heat source for the boiler. The train was
run at the 1995 IBLS Meet in Los Angeles and through that initial summer at
our local Kitsap Live Steamers track. Since September of 1995 the locomotive
has been in my living room.
The all copper boiler
and brass tender provide a corrosion free operation and will assure a long
life of steaming for this locomotive. The engineer’s riding car & cattle
car (containing a horizontal Propane tank) are included providing a complete
train ready to run. A two level storage rack on casters and the locomotive
dolly are inclusive with the train.
The asking price is
$16,950 for this excellent well built locomotive, which was run only one
summer. The locomotive is located in Seattle Washington.
